I think it will be most interesting if I speak about climate change and global energy policy in 

the wake of the Japanese nuclear accident.  I will also include a discussion of the current state of 

U.S. politics and how this is affecting U.S. energy policy.  Here is a suggested title for my talk: 

"Climate Change and the Future of Global Energy Policy in the Wake of World Tsunamis."  By 

"world tsunamis" I refer to the earthquake and tsunami that caused the Japanese nuclear accident and the "political tsunami" of the U.S. congressional election in November 2010 that has made it 

impossible for President Obama to win adoption of cap-and-trade legislation.  I also will mention 

the case before the U.S. Supreme Court on whether states can sue companies with coal-fired 

power plants for contributing to climate change.
