The LL.M. Program at Penn State’s Dickinson Law gives students and lawyers trained outside of the U.S. a high-level understanding of the American legal system. The program’s foundational courses introduce you to our unique analytic methodologies. The LL.M. program is a 24-credit, one academic year course of study. Students must enroll in at least 12 credits per semester and may enroll in no more than 17 credits per semester.Penn State University is consistently ranked among the top research and teaching institutions in the world.

- A minimum paper-based score of 575 or an internet-based score of 88 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a score of 6.5 on the International Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Two letters of recommendation

Tuition & Fees
Penn State's Board of Trustees meets every summer to establish tuition rates and mandatory fees for the upcoming academic year. On July 22, 2017, the Board released the J.D. and LL.M. tuition rates for the 2017-18 academic year. Additionally, our Office of Admissions and Financial Aid provides estimated costs of non-tuition related expenses to assist students with budgeting.
Scholarships Opportunities
Penn State Law awards merit-based scholarships to outstanding LL.M. applicants. Allapplicants are considered for merit-based scholarships and no separate scholarship formis required. Please contact our Admissions Office for a list of possible outside fundingsources.
Housing
LL.M. students may apply for graduate housing atWhite Course Apartments, an on-campus community of the University offering apartments for single students and students with families. Single student apartments accommodate four students per each. Each student has a private bedroom, and shares a bathroom with another student. Each apartment has a shared kitchen and living room. Students who are accompanied with families may apply for one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments, depending on family size. Each family housing apartment has its own kitchen and laundry facilities and utilities, phone service, cable, and internet access are included in the rent.
